Diversity & Inclusion
In addition to conducting research on diversity, equity, and inclusion, we also prioritize these values in our own lab group. We value diversity in race, ethnicity, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, disability status, and socioeconomic status (SES), among other characteristics – we especially encourage people from stigmatized or underrepresented groups to apply to our lab!
To maintain a diverse group of researchers in the lab, it's essential that we have an environment where members feels valued, respected, and included. Current and past members of the lab have a range of identities that contribute to diversity in race/ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and SES (to name a few). Teri herself is part of the LGBTQ+ community and is a first-generation college student – it’s her highest priority that the lab continues to be a community where people with stigmatized and underrepresented identities feel supported and where students receive training tailored to their goals.
